- Riding a hoverboard is a learning curve! I’m coming from the background of being able to ride a longboard, so I figured the basic principle of balance should be the same and the rest will follow! I had to have my friend there for support at first. I’m just under the weight limit by maybe fifteen pounds so I was worried I’d destroy my hoverboard. Luckily it’s holding up! Admittedly, at my weight, the “all terrain” claim isn’t exactly true. The surface needs to be firm, and concrete is still the best for high speed. Grass is safer, but it’s uneven where I’m at, so maintaining balance is much harder. All in all, Jetson J Beat is more of a kids and lower weight adult hoverboard. In the future, I’m going to look into a higher end (higher weight rating) option.
