- The media could not be loaded.There’s a special place in this world for stupid people, apparently I am one of those people.I went to visit my sister in Idaho and thought it would be cool if I could figure out how to ride my nieces hoverboard. Same brand same color as the one I purchased.Three days of riding around the house, I thought, I’m the cool aunt, because I could ride this thing.Like, by the end of day three, I was doing Spinney’s on the carpet, and able to cruise around the house with crap in my hands, just maneuvering the board with my body lingoThis is how the stupid started.Fourth of July evening, it’s dark, fireworks going off outside, two glasses of red wine down, I think-“Ooooooh I should take the board outside and ride and watch fireworks.”I’m cruising along on a dark driveway with a glass of red wine in one hand, sparkler in the other, singing the Star-Spangled Banner. I put my arm out to break my fall, and you can probably figure out the rest. I fractured my elbow and got some pretty decent gravel in my palm and arm. The board got hung up on a small piece of dirt clod in the driveway and that’s how I fell. And it was dark and I was being stupid. The board was innocent.Here’s the really good part of the story where my stupid gets stupider.The night before my accident, I loved riding the hover board so much that I bought myself one, this board, on Amazon.The next day after my arm was the size of a huge German stuffed sausage, I didn’t cancel that order. In fact, I got back on my nieces board the next morning to “get back in the saddle” if you will.Moral of the story, this board is super fun, super easy to maneuver and holds a charge well, but get some pads to go with it. ?
