The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Box Set features a blood-stained cleaver-wielding Leatherface poised butcher house-style above a partially flayed corpse. Leatherface features interchangeable heads, and his box set workshop environment includes accessories such as chainsaw, shears, meat hooks, cleavers, multiple body parts, table, bench and whole victim. Leatherface is typically masked and clad in his gore-slicked butcher’s apron. Sprawled before Leatherface, the victim is well on his way to becoming the next award-winning bowl of chili.
Loosely based upon the crazy adventures of Ed Gein, Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a chaotically resonant contribution to the esteemed Slasher pantheon. Leatherface and his tight-knit family procured victims from isolated locations, transferring the victims to the family farm where the butchery commenced either in meat lockers or subterrane workshops. Leatherface, horribly disfigured, had long since taken to the habit of wearing dead skin masks, frequently creating new masks when he came across a face that he fancied. Leatherface’s primary weapon of choice was the chainsaw---calling for tilt-angled scenes in which Leatherface mewled derangedly, chainsaw buzzing and guttering overhead, as he chased lithe screaming female victims in hip-hugger shorts through ragged mazes of clotheslines, rusted cars and dead orchard trees.
